Apple iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy S5

Apple iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy S5

A Italian website claiming to have gotten its hands on images of an iPhone 6 manufacturer’s final mockup has concluded the rumoured new phone will be “be thinner, more comfortable to hold and use” than Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S5.

The pictures appear to confirm the widely held belief that the next iPhone will be by far the biggest iPhone ever, with a 4.7-inch screen, up from the tiny 4-inch screen on the iPhone 5s and much bigger than the minuscule 3.5 inches on the older models.

They also show that the iPhone 6 will be a tad thinner than a Galaxy S5, both in width and in depth, leading the Italian website to conclude the phone will be “more easy to hold and use than the Samsung Galaxy S5”.

The Galaxy S5, top, is longer, wider and thus harder to use than the Apple iPhone 6, bottom.

Keep in mind, though, that the website, macitynet.it, specialises in all things Mac, iPad and iPhone, and so may be displaying some bias in its conclusions. Who’s to say a thinner phone is prima facie more easy to use?

The website continues on to say that “the iPhone 6 seems to promise what they have long been accustomed to Apple users: To integrate a bigger screen Apple will not compromise and will not launch a smartphone and often cumbersome, much less massive design or unpleasant”. Macitynet also got its hands of images of the iPhone 6 mockup next to a current iPhone, and as you can see, it’s quite a lot wider, which it would need to be to accommodate the bigger screen.
